This show had 40 odd artists participating form different Zones of India. I represented the south zone. In this show I revisited tiffin carrier concept that I had worked on earlier but with a touch of the south, taking inspiration form the temples and the motives found in the temples. Techniques used screen printing.
As with most of the shows that I participate in I do research on the place and what the title suggests to me. In to the box required us to make the same pieces but in 4 different sizes. Being in Jaipur, my teapots have Jalli patterns on them and the camel on the top also represents the place. Some of the teapots have luster on them showing royalty. The kettle form is from the Indian tea Kettle. Techniques used, Screen printing and Laser Printing.
Synchronized was a show which had both photographers as well as, potters participating. It was an amalgamation of both, and it was required that we use the imagery in our work to keep with the title. Apart from using print techniques for me, the word synchronized also meant a world where humans and animals must live as one.
2020 the whole world almost shut down and the word desolate resonated everywhere. Everyone has unanswered questions, but one question that kept on was Aren’t we the cause? We as a human race should take action for what we do and try our level best to keep balance on this earth. For this show, I used human faces with imagery on them to represent the sad times that may be ahead.
